FUNDRAISING IDEAS
There are many ways that you can help animals in need.
Whether you've set yourself a goal of raising £5 or £5,000, here are a few ideas to get you thinking.
- Organise a neighbourhood street party
- Hold an unusual sponsored event such as a baked bean bath
- Take part in a sponsored bike ride, walk, fun run or swim. Or sign up for an extreme challenge such as running a marathon or jumping out of a plane - See our 'Challenges' section
- Buy and sell charity items on ebay - Details can be found at pages.ebay.co.uk/community/charity
- Sell your creativity to the community - Organise an arts exhibition, offer face painting, make a fundraising CD or sell handmade crafts
- Odd jobs fundraising - Offer to help your neighbours with some DIY in exchange for a donation
- Bake and sell some cakes
- Hold a car boot or a garage sale
- Set up a charity committee at work and organise a dress down day once a month, charging everyone £1
- Organise a fancy dress party
- Pledge to give up something you love and either use the saved money as your donation or ask for sponsorship
- Organise a sports day or a football tournament
- Have a raffle
- Organise a pub quiz or contest
- Make and sell Christmas cards
- Organise a village fete with some simple fun fair style games for adults and children
- Ask your friends for a donation to charity instead of a Birthday or Christmas present
- Set up a 'Swap a lunch' scheme where your colleagues agree to make their own work lunch one day a week instead of buying it so they can donate the saved cash
- Set up a swear box at work
- Play guess the baby - Ask your colleagues to provide pictures of themselves as babies and charge them £1 each to match the baby photo to their colleagues. Or hold a pet sweepstake and charge £1 per person to guess the name of the chosen pet with a prize for the winner
- Have a coffee morning, a dinner party or a wine tasting evening
