Nicky Stevens and Lynsey Gill live in England and are the co-founders of IAPWA.  Both are passionate campaigners for animal welfare.  Their partnership was formed in 2007 whilst working on a rehabilitation project in Namibia where they were involved in the conservation of lions, leopard, cheetah, wild dogs and primates.

Following their experiences in Africa, they travelled to the rainforests of Borneo to search for wild orang-utans. It was during this trip that they witnessed the problems facing many of Sabah’s companion animals, prompting the formation of IAPWA.  The organisation was established in the UK to provide hope and protection for animals in need by preventing cruelty and promoting animal welfare.

IAPWA believes that every dog and cat that dies as a result of overpopulation, cruelty or neglect is an animal that deserved the chance to have a better life. Too many animals competing for too few good homes has resulted in millions of dogs and cats that desperately need our help. The team are tirelessly campaigning for change and with the help and support of animal lovers around the world, hope that they can unite together to create a compassionate society where animal cruelty becomes a thing of the past.
