Olive

Olive was found on the streets at just a few months old in Romania. Her story was shared on social media where Susie Addis in our team fell in love with her. Her partner, Dan Richardson, one of our Romania Ambassadors, decided to take on an epic trip to drive from the UK to Romania to meet her at one of our partners, Centre of Hope, who were treating her. One she was well, she then began her roadtrip to her forever home where she lives with Susie, Dan and their 3 cats. Olive also has her own Facebook page where people can find out more about her new life under ‘Olive the Romania Rescue Dog’.

Louis

Louis was rescued by our Founder, Nicky and the Borneo team, during a population survey. They found Louis at just a few months old, cowering in a box on a rubbish dump, alone, covered in excrement and terrified. After taking him back to our facility he transformed into a happy, confident puppy and flew back to the UK with Nicky to live with her and Summer, her rescue cat. He now represents our Borneo project and has been featured in many magazine articles where his story has been shared to raise awareness of the thousands of dogs we treat and care for every year within this project.

Layla Danni

Through our amazing challenge undertaken last year by our Ambassadors, Dan and Annie, Yvonne Anderson in our Team decided to adopt a dog from Romania to give them the chance of a forever family. Layla-Danni (named after our Ambassadors) was found in a church yard in Constanta where a kind lady took her in so she would be safe until she came to live with Yvonne. She now has an amazing life and is helping to raise awareness of the plight of dogs in Romania who need support. For more information about her new life, you can visit her very own Facebook page under ‘Layla Danni Anderson’.

Romana

The lovely Romana was rescued, living near a railway with no-one to care for her. She was taken to one of our partners, Centre of Hope and we met her during a trip to Romania in 2017 when we were joined by Mary Burgess, Founder of the Animal Star Awards. After meeting Romana, Mary fell in love with her and when she returned to the UK she arranged for her to come and live with her and her other gorgeous girl, Gracie Lou. For more information about the Animal Star Awards where we’re proud to be judging two categories this year, please visit www.animalstarawards.com and like their FB page www.facebook.com/animalstarawards.

Kratu

The inspirational Kratu was found in a gypsy camp and after spending some time in foster he found his forever family with Tess Eagle Swan who also had 3 other large breed dogs. He soon started training with the guidance of his new Mum and Wendy Kruger (Head behaviourist at Wood Green) and showed his amazing ability to learn, progressing through all the Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards to gold. He then learnt the ‘Do as I Do’ programme (Claudia Fugazza training) and was the first dog in the UK to pass the exam. Following this he became a Pets as Therapy dog and has visited a home for the elderly with dementia as well as being his owners assistance dog. Kratu has won ‘Best in Show’ in many dog shows and is a big character with a huge heart. The word Kratu is the name of a star from the Ursa Major….the bear star. His light now shines to help others to show how amazing rescue dogs are.

Toto

Toto lives with one of our Ambassadors, Annie and together they want to make a big difference to the lives of many dogs in Romania needing our support. Toto came into Annie’s life a year ago. The temperatures were plummeting and Christmas was fast approaching. Toto was living in a church yard and the priest had asked the local dog catchers to “clear” this area before the Christmas celebrations. A rescuer called Alina frantically tried to rehome as many as she could before the dog catchers arrived. When Annie heard about Totos plight she saw his face and fell in love and shortly after he joined her in his forever home.

Noa

We first met Noa at a sanctuary who we had supported within one of our neutering campaigns. Noa was just a small pup and looked so much like our Borneo Ambassadog, Louis. Marielle in our Netherlands Team had been looking for a very special puppy to join her 2 other dogs so as she could offer a forever home to a dog who needed support. Shortly after, Noa arrived in the Netherlands and has an amazing life with her new family.
